The CHW-LAP provided implementation research support to the Ministry of Health for the recruitment and selection phases of the CHW trainees for the CBHP. The main objective was to describe CHW recruitment and selection processes in two regions of Tanzania in order to identify strengths, gaps and challenges faced by the implementers as well as the potential trainees and to assess adherence to guidelines issued by the Ministry. These findings would be useful in refining future recruitment and selection processes for rollout in Tanzania.

The study was conducted in two regions of the country namely Simiyu and Morogoro and involved various stakeholders including applicants for the CHW training positions, local government authorities and Council Health Management Team (CHMT) members. Read More!
